Night Falls Like a Freight Train

Our first full length album is a nine song collection of dark electronic music with ambient influences and a strong industrial aftertaste.

To quote a review of the album by Latest Disgrace, the album contains "glimmering, softly pulsing kaleidoscopes of sound that manage to tie in fragments of trip-hop and trance, bits and pieces of gothic noise, piano ballads, world beat and clattering industrial music. ... (The) densely-layered soundscapes are ghostly-lit and ethereal, full of broken, scattered beats, ambient textures and haunted field recordings that help lend the music a mesmerizing dreamlike atmosphere."

Listen to Night Falls Like a Freight Train

Night Falls Like a Freight Train, includes tracks from our debut EP, 1000 Voices.
You can listen to tracks from the album below.

Starless

Hello new friend. Welcome to the pack. (an introduction)

the Key

Who says you can't use a piano with only one working key? The main piano part is only one note, but all the little nuances keep it interesting.  Of course, the vocals, orchestra, drums, effects, and bad-ass distorted synth don't hurt.

Starlit

We are so sure you don't know what a sarangi is that if you contact us and prove us wrong we'll send you a prize! Listen to this track and you'll know what it sounds like. It's the sound that's not a cello or bagpipes or wolves.

Black Floods

Our friend Lindsey Stamey of The Few did guest vocals on this one, and she did a lovely job.  Her voice meshes well with the Armenian Oboes (duduk), shattering pianos (literally), granulated Middle Eastern drums, string sections, bellowing synths, and plane crashes.

Night Falls Like a Freight Train

Slow metamorphosis from eerie into something far worse and back out again. For those who like scavenger hunts, listen for and locate the rattlesnakes. (Balie has hidden them so well that Daniel still can't find them.)

Shocked to Sleep

Surprisingly pleasant. This track will lull you into a sense of heightened awareness. Sounds like electric rain that doesn't electrocute you or get you wet. Sloooowly guides you into the next track.

1000 Voices

Inspired by the same source from which we got our name, mixed together with some non-trivial quantity of our own demented imaginations. The 13th century was a great time for literature.

Cloaked in Reason

Backwards stuff and lots of it.  You will emerge from the chaos in about 42 seconds, so hang in there.  Help will arrive!

Tension

Outro. Relax to this one.
The constantly increasing tempo and pitch will ratchet your mind up to excessive speeds and then drop you off a cliff. Enjoy the long, long fall afterwards.
